Myndoli Banana cultivation is a significant fruit crop in Goa. It is believed to be very nourishing, with high levels of energy, vitamins, and minerals. It is possible to steam, roast or fry it. It can be seen on the large and towering banana tree. They are big and have a long, tusk-like shape. The pulp is a deep shade of yellow to golden, and is solid and firm. As it matures, the skin changes from green to a golden colour and acquires black spots. Because of its excellent flavour and few seeds, the Myndoli banana is widely used in Goa for making a variety of shakes in comparison to other types.
