Udaipur Koftgari Metal Craft is a traditional decorative metalworking technique which involves inlaying a softer metal, like gold or silver, ino a harder metal like iron, steel etc. In this craft gold and silver wires are inlayed onto iron or steel surfaces. Practiced in Udaipur and Chittorgarh, Rajasthan, it is used to decorate weaponry, utility items and decorative objects with intricate motifs. The craft reflects regal heritage and is prized for its ornamental finesse.
