The Tripura Queen Pineapple is a traditional fruit of Tripura that was initially cultivated there. When ripe, the fruits have an orange-yellow in color. The variety is believed to have been cultivat ed over 200 years. The Tripuran people have meticulously kept the concept that "pineapple would never betray them" in their traditional lore. Although any crop may fail in an adverse environment, pineapple is only a crop that may survive and generate a sizable income year after year.
