Bahadoli Jamun is a heritage fruit variety cultivated in Bahadoli village of Palghar district, Maha rashtra. Scientifically known as Syzygium cumini L., it is an evergreen tree that can grow up to 100 feet tall. The fruit is oblong, large-sized, and ripens from green to deep purple or black towards the end of summer. Known for its sweet, sour, and astringent flavor, Bahadoli Jamun is consumed fresh and processed into beverages and medicinal products.
